The Ball Valve Grinder SAPORITI PV1600 is suitable for the high precision grinding of steel and coated balls up to 1600 mm OD especially with metal-to-metal seats.

This machine has a very rigid structure and a big covering frame in stainless steel to protect operators and to contains the working fluids.

There are many and interesting features on this machine. 

The machine shape for example has the grinding wheel inclined to allow the better view of the operator and the easier flow of the coolant. Moreover, the grinding wheel can be regulated to cover a wide range of balls diameter to avoid the continuous changing of grinding wheels. The same tool holders allow the fittings of standard grinding pads and of diamond discs. These discs are necessary to grind coated valves (by Stellite, ceramic, alloys of chrome, nickel…..).   

The CNC Siemens Controls three linear and two rotary axes. Between the linear there is the vertical movement of the grinding tool the Y axis which has a micro-movement and allow the perfect centering between tool and ball to reach the highest accuracy. This position is defined by a Renishaw probe. The sealed motors used on this machine produce less noise, allow less power consumption and less maintenance of the machine. Moreover, the high precision roller guideways one the linear axis assure the best accuracy and the best finishing surface of the workpieces.

Saporiti developed a customized software to help the operator for an easier centering between tool and ball and the faster programming of grinding cycles.

The good surface finishing are also warrantee by the presence of relevant filters for coolant and for working air.

By this machine can be reached high accuracy in roundness (even better than 0.01 mm) and surface finishing (even smoother than Ra 0.2).
